

Located at the Vicarage on Elsfield Road in Old Marston Village, the Hub is home to MCG’s Giving Garage, Refill Station, party kit etc. The Hub hosts occasional community events and workshops, and the Giving Garage shelters donated gardening and other equipment that people can use or borrow, in order to share what is available in the community and avoid unnecessary purchases of new materials.

Earth Day
Saturday 22 April 2023 at the Marston Eco Hub: First ever ‘Marston Earth Day’ free and very family-friendly and planet-friendly event! Stalls, tables, info, discussion, activities such as Wild Oxfordshire, Oxford for Nature, Oxford Friends of the Earth, Oxford Recycling, Low Carbon Oxford North & Low Carbon Marston, Marston Community Gardening (with plant swap/share), Marston Forest Garden, Marston Eco Group (Giving Garage, SESI Refills, Book Swap, Eco Party Kit, Repair Cafe, Marston Wombles), Hedgehog talk, choir performance, story-telling, group singing session, face-painting, willow-weaving, insect model-making, pine cone bird-feeders, banner-making, tours of Marston Forest Garden and much more!! Bring your empty bottles to refill at SESI detergent refill station, a bag to take your stuff home and a cup for a hot or cold drink! Refreshments and finger foods will be available for sale – a fundraiser!!

Repair Cafe
Repair Cafe is organised in association with Share Oxford at the Eco hub on 18th March 2023, from 2pm – 5pm. A free community event, to match people with broken household items with skilled people who like fixing things, such as small household electrical items, blunt knives, clothes in need of repair: The focus of the event is on skill-sharing and building community as, rather than throwing things in the bin, we will learn how to fix them, alongside the volunteer repairers. There will also be tea, coffee and cakes.
